SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS
Life on Earth 250 million years ago looked very different from life on Earth today. Evolution is a process that results in change over time, and is a reflection of adaptations that allowed life to be successful at any given point in geologic time. Understanding the biotic and abiotic factors that drive evolution are important for explaining how life responded to change in past and will continue to change in the future.
The questions driving my research are:
- How individual organisms, ecosystems, environments, and climate have changed through geologic time?
- How individual organisms, ecosystems, environments, and climate will continue to change in the future
both naturally and due to anthropogenic effects?

personal interests
Fieldwork is an important component of my research. I enjoy being outside and working in nature. I like to go hiking and explore the area around me. I will often take my cat, Moose, with me.
When not working on research, I enjoy reading SciFi and fantasy novels, painting/drawing, playing video games, and playing with my cats.
